Growing confident explorers through active, outdoor play.
Our Approach
At our childminding setting, we provide a warm, nurturing “home away from home” where small groups allow every child to feel safe, valued, and loved. We build close partnerships with parents to deliver tailored care that puts wellbeing first. Inspired by Montessori, Forest School, and The Curiosity Approach, our environment encourages hands-on exploration, independent discovery, and a strong connection to nature. We balance rich indoor play with daily outdoor adventures in our large garden and local woodlands, minimizing screen time in favor of real-world learning.
Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we celebrate each child’s unique developmental journey and foster essential early literacy skills through regular reading, songs, and library visits. By focusing on fundamental skills – communication, physical development, and emotional wellbeing – we nurture kindness, confidence, and resilience. Our goal is to give every child the very best start in life, preparing curious and independent learners ready for school and beyond.

Our Services
We offer a high-quality childcare service from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, for children aged from birth upwards. We maintain a warm, attentive, and home-from-home environment. We also offer wrap-around care for some of our local primary schools.
Our balanced daily routine combines child-led exploration, structured learning, story sessions, and active play. Nutritious and healthy meals, snacks and drinks are included in our full-time rates, and provided as an optional extra during funded hours.
Rooted in our love for outdoor discovery and real-world experiences, we make full use of our local surroundings. Children enjoy regular outings to nearby parks, woodlands, farms, and libraries – such as Moneyhole Park, Stanborough Park, and local soft play centres – to foster physical growth, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.
Testimonials
Kay gave our children the best possible start to education and we will always be so grateful for how empathetic, patient and kind she was.
She has always shown an incredible level of knowledge and professionalism whilst making my children feel as comfortable as possible in their setting.
The patience she had with my daughter, who was classed as a Selective Mute child, helped nurtured her in the most perfect way and now, age 8, she continues to speak highly of Kay and reminisces about all the times Kay has supported her.
Kay has such a positive, lasting effect on the children that she cares for.

The care given to my son whilst supported by Kay was second to none. She was kind, supportive and understanding of my son’s individual needs and requirements, nothing was ever to much trouble and was always so happy to see Connor when he arrived and provided a comprehensive handover at the end of the day.
I would not hesitate to ask Kay to care for my son again in future.
